Our bakers

Two bakers, one oven and a village that likes bread

Fernhollow Bakehouse is two people and a wood-fired oven in a made-up village. This page says who we are.

Fernhollow Bakehouse is made up for a test site. Nothing here is for sale.

Since the oven was built

We learned on one oven and stayed with it

Mira and Tom took over the bakehouse from the last baker in the village. The oven is older than both of them, and it still sets the pace of the day.

A round loaf with a cross cut into the crust, on a wooden plate.

“If the loaf is not right, it does not go on the shelf. It goes to the ducks on the green.”

Mira, one of the two bakers (a made-up person)

Next: the bread

Six loaves and three pastries, baked every morning.
